Courts Going to the Dogs – in a Nice Way.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has ruled that trial courts may allow “comfort dogs” for witnesses at criminal trials, holding it was not error for a trial court to allow a child with autism to have such an animal at his feet during his testimony.

In a related development, a federal court in Tennessee ruled last week that an employee of AT&T Mobility Services can proceed to trial on his claims that the company denied him a reasonable accommodation for his mental health disabilities by not allowing him to have his service dog accompany him at work.
